Saturday, October 14, Tangipahoa Parish Library will hold its 12th Annual Free Book Festival from 10 am to 2 pm at its Hammond Branch.
The theme this year is “Growth!”
Everyone who attends gets a free book.
There will be free hamburgers and hot dogs (the Tangipahoa Parish Assessor’s Office is providing the grill), and vendors will give away free goodies and services.
The Book Festival celebrates free public libraries and the freedom to read.
But that’s not all. On October 14 there will be a partial eclipse of the sun (70% in our area) and the library will be giving out free eclipse glasses. These are necessary to safely look at an eclipse.
