Sunday afternoon, shortly before 2:15 p.m., Troopers from State Police Troop L began investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on I-12 near the I-10 interchange in St. Tammany Parish.
The crash claimed the life of 38 YO Kyle Sweet of Pearl River.
The initial investigation revealed the crash occurred as Sweet was eastbound on I-12 driving a 2022 Suzuki motorcycle. For reasons still under investigation, the Suzuki traveled off the roadway to the left and impacted multiple trees.
Despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet, Sweet sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology sample was obtained for analysis.
