Yesterday, St Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper, Coastal Protection and Restoration Manager Randy Pausina, Senator Sharon Hewitt, St. Tammany Level, Drainage & Conservation District Chairwoman Suzanne Krieger and other officials met with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to discuss further flood protection in St. Tammany Parish, especially in eastern St. Tammany.
Among the items addressed were the South Slidell and West Slidell Levee and Floodwall, Mile Branch Channel improvements, home elevations and other non-structural enhancements.
President Cooper said they will work tirelessly to bring federal tax dollars back to St. Tammany to enhance local flood protection.
