While the main private schools in the parish closed due to weather threats today, Tangipahoa Parish School System’s public schools said they would be open on Wednesday, December 14.
They said they will continue to monitor the potential weather conditions expected to impact the area. They said as always, parents and families should monitor the conditions where they live and make decisions that are best for their family. Students who are tardy or who need to check out early, or miss school due to weather conditions near their home will be excused. They said please continue to monitor their website and social media for changes based on the timing of the approaching storms the area.
Other schools in the area include all Livingston Parish Public Schools will be closed and all East Feliciana Parish Schools and offices will be closed. LSU will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 14. All daytime activities are canceled. However, the LSU Women’s Basketball game at 7 p.m. in the PMAC is still scheduled. Essential workers should check with their supervisors about whether to report to work.
