The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office says deputies accompanied a minor who visited seventeen parish businesses in an attempt to purchase alcohol.
Thirteen of the businesses followed state law and refused to sell alcohol to a minor.
Four businesses sold whiskey, wine, beer or other alcoholic beverages to the minor female.
The four businesses in violation of Louisiana law were Highway 10 One Stop in Bogalusa, Chevron on Marshall Richardson Road in Bogalusa, SP Truck Stop on Highway 10 east of Bogalusa and JZ Quick Stop on Highway 21 in Bogalusa.
Clerks at each of the businesses were issued a summons to appear in court.
Sheriff Randy Seal said he applauded the thirteen businesses which diligently checked identification and refused to sell to the undercover minor.
