New Orleans was ranked one of the country’s top 10 cities, ranking ninth, in terms of fastest GDP growth in a new study by the University of North Carolina’s American Growth Project.
The report said tourism’s post-COVID rebound greatly bolstered New Orleans’ economic standing in recent months, assisted by other established sources of revenue for the city including petrochemical plants and the Port of New Orleans.
San Francisco topped the ranking, with Austin awarded the runner-up spot, then Seattle, Raleigh and Dallas rounded out the top five.
