St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston issued rulings on the cause and manner of death for two gunshot victims near Mandeville.
23 YO Brittany Buras died of a gunshot wound. The manner of death was homicide.
43 YO Tara Book also died of a gunshot wound. Her manner of death was ruled a suicide.
Authorities say Book killed her daughter then called 911 and told the operator what happened before turning the gun on herself.
Dr. Preston says suicide has been an ongoing problem for St. Tammany Parish, and says his office provides mental health services for anyone who needs it.
