The Louisiana Department of Health is making changes to how it releases information about COVID-19 cases.
Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 19, Louisiana health officials will only report on new case numbers, hospitalizations, and deaths once a week.
Those new numbers will be released every Wednesday through the Louisiana Department of Health COVID-19 dashboard.
Health officials said the change comes as Louisiana enters a different stage in the pandemic response.
They said that many other states have already switched to a weekly release in case numbers.
