After a plea deal former teacher Cynthia Perkins is expected to receive a 41-year prison sentence on Friday.
Perkins was arrested in 2019 along with her now-ex-husband Dennis Perkins, a Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputy at the time of his arrest, on charges that included over 150 sex crimes.
Under her plea deal, Cynthia will have 68 of those charges dismissed and will be required to testify against Dennis, who she has alleged manipulated her into breaking the law.
Cynthia filed for divorce after her arrest.
Police initially arrested the couple when they acted on a tip left at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
