The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles is partnering with federal and state agencies to educate motorists on recognizing the signs of human trafficking and how to respond to possible cases.
The OMV’s publicity campaign features signs across high-trafficked roadways in Baton Rouge, Covington, Hammond, New Orleans, Shreveport, and Slidell.
The agency will also run commercials at gas pumps urging drivers to utilize the anonymous and confidential National Human Trafficking Hotline at (888) 373-7888.
Drivers can also text HELP or INFO to BEFREE (233733) if they suspect human trafficking.
Posters, informational brochures, window decals, and wallet cards will also be available to guests at select OMV field office locations as well.
