Mayor Latoya Cantrell and City Health Department Director Jennifer Avegno will speak Thursday at 4 PM about the potential changes the city may be making to its COVID guidelines.
Yesterday Mayoral spokesman Beau Tidwell indicated during a press briefing that the changes could come as soon as this week.
He would not confirm whether that meant the reinstatement of the mask mandate.
Tidwell did confirm that the city will not be dropping the vaccine mandate, at least through Mardi Gras.
It was also announced that 19 businesses were found to be violating vaccine card policy and were issued a warning by city officials.
