Tangipahoa Parish residents who test positive for COVID-19 and develop mild to moderate symptoms can now receive monoclonal antibody treatment without having to go to the hospital.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced that the Louisiana Department of Health, in partnership with Tangipahoa Parish Government, opened a mobile monoclonal antibody treatment site in Amite at the Florida Parishes Arena.
Miller said the mobile site offers high-risk COVID patients another option to seek treatment locally without having to go to the hospital.
The mobile site is fully approved by the Louisiana Department of Health and staffed with professional medical personnel. It is open seven days per week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and walk-ins are accepted.
Miller said there is no out of pocket expense; however, residents are asked to bring their health insurance information to the site.
