The deadline for residents, who need emergency assistance or suffered damage following Hurricane Ida, to apply for FEMA aid has been extended, per FEMA.
Residents now have until September 22, 2021 to apply for the aid, which provides help paying for immediate life-sustaining needs including food, water, fuel for transportation, medical devices and equipment.
Apply online at https://www.disasterassistance.gov or by phone at 1-800-621-3362. General disaster assistance applications through the Individual Assistance program can now be filed through October 28, 2021.
