With Tropical Storm Ida moving rapidly and anticipated to intensify, the City of Slidell is asking people to start taking precautions for severe weather over the next several days.
Mayor Greg Cromer says Team Slidell is ready. He said crews have been out cleaning ditches and catch basins and making sure that drainage around the city is clear. He added that all of their pumps were working and ready.
Citizens were encouraged to check their storm drains near their homes to make sure they are cleared of debris and to clear their yards of any items that could be blown around by heavy winds.
