A large, vocal group of parents and anti-mask advocates showed up at the BESE meeting yesterday.
They were there to try to get local control of the mask mandate away from the governor and placed in each local school district. But, after they refused to wear masks in the meeting room, the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education adjourned its meeting early without considering possible changes in rules mandating that children wear masks to school.
Doctors who were going to testify on the mask issue refused to enter the room because so few attendees wore masks.
After repeated outbursts and mass refusal to wear masks, the board simply took no action and voted to adjourn.
