Yesterday Louisiana State Police, Mississippi Highway Patrol, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency began a concentrated enforcement effort on I-10 called “10-8 on 10, One Road, One Mission.”
The mission is simple, promote good driving behavior so everyone can have a safe fourth of July weekend while traveling through our respective states.
Troopers will focus on removing impaired drivers, promoting seatbelt usage, and deterring aggressive drivers. In addition, Troopers will also focus on drivers who fail to move over when law enforcement, emergency or tow vehicles are parked on the side of the road.
This high visibility enforcement detail will precede the Fourth of July holiday travel period and is designed to keep motorists safe during peak travel times.
If you witness hazardous situations, impaired or aggressive drivers in Louisiana, please dial *LSP and report it to the nearest Troop.
