Bring Back Louisiana, the statewide grassroots effort to break down barriers to the COVID-19 vaccines, this weekend will launch its first vaccination events in the 9 pilot zip codes announced in March.
Leading up to each vaccination event, community partners have been conducting a variety of outreach efforts to make residents aware of the events and answer questions about the vaccines. As of April 18, community partners already have knocked on 2,983 doors, handed out 5,149 door hangers and flyers, made 2,513 phone calls and sent 17,440 text messages. Robocalls recorded by Regional Medical Directors are going out to every landline in all public health regions encouraging residents to call the COVID Vaccine Hotline to ask questions and get the facts about the COVID vaccines.

Residents can also call the COVID Vaccine Hotline to get information about where to receive a vaccine, get help making an appointment and have their questions answered by a medical professional. The hotline number is 1-855-453-0774. Residents can call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
To date, the hotline has received 1,798 calls and scheduled 641 appointments.
