Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announced that work will continue on the Maggio Road crossing Monday, March 29, as Canadian National continues to complete maintenance work on several crossings in the mid-parish area.
Canadian National has scheduled maintenance work on several local railroad crossings, which will require one-day closures at each site as work is being completed. Miller said the schedule also calls for maintenance work to done at Black Cat Crossing in Independence, and at Velma Crossing in Velma. Individual crossings are expected to be closed during daylight hours starting at 7 a.m. each day, and travelers will have to detour around the crossing during the work period. All work will be completed on a weather-permitting basis, railroad officials said.
