As of yesterday, St Tammany Health System was reporting only three patients in their hospital for COVID-19 care.
They have discharged 1,080 patients from COVID care since the pandemic began. They are adjusting our patient visitation policies to keep patients safe and but also respond to the changing COVID environment.
Vaccinations are believed to be one of the primary impacts to containing the spread of COVID-19 in the community, along with continued masking, distancing and handwashing. STHS has issued 15,651 vaccines since the first dose in December, and they continue to receive regular supply from the state. The Louisiana Department of Health has expanded vaccination eligibility to all residents 16 and over with at least one qualifying condition as well as all those previously eligible.
Anyone that is qualified and has not yet scheduled their vaccine can call 985-898-4001 or book an appointment in MyChart. Convenient locations include the main hospital, Express Care in front of Flower Estates and the Cordes Pavilion on Bootlegger Rd. The call center is answered 24 hours per day, so calling at off-peak times may result in faster connection.
