The Hammond Police Department is excited to announce a new partnership with SOAR (Strengthening Outcomes with Autism Resources). During the month of April, our officers will be wearing Autism Awareness badges in support of those living with Autism in our community. After wearing the badges during the month of April, they will be presented during a special ceremony in May. A badge may be purchased to be given to a loved one, friend, or anyone who is part of the Autism community. If you would like to purchase a badge, but do not have anyone to personally dedicate the badge to, your donation will be matched with someone in the SOAR patient network. Any other donations will be accepted via the Fraternal Order of Police and all monies collected will go towards the purchase of these badges.
