Yesterday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,517 #COVID19 new cases. Of those cases, 1,845 were confirmed and 672 were probable. 96% of the cases reported were community spread. 4% were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 and between the ages of 30 and 39 account for 34% of the cases. There were 55 deaths reported yesterday, bringing the current total death count to 8,743. The Department is reporting an additional 39,477 COVID-19 vaccinations administered since the last update. The state has now administered 397,371 doses, including 57,926 completed two-dose series. 1,590 people are in hospitals with 206 of them requiring ventilators. St Tammany’s test positivity rate is at 11.7%, down slightly. Tangipahoa stands at 7.9%, also dropping slightly. Washington Parish is at 5.2%, a 16% drop.
