Yesterday the Southeastern Louisiana football team continued preparations for next month’s season opener. Monday marked the fourth practice of Southeastern’s preseason camp. SLU head coach Frank Scelfo, the reigning Southland Conference Coach of the Year, has been impressed by the unity he sees developing within his team. Scelfo said that as a coach, he wants to see his best players also be the best people and he’s seeing that. Southeastern officially opens the spring semester on Wednesday. Southeastern will return to the Strawberry Stadium today for a 2:15 p.m. practice.
SLU is scheduled to open its six-game, conference-only spring schedule on Feb. 27 at Sam Houston State. The Lions host McNeese on March 6 at Strawberry Stadium to open its home schedule.
