St. Tammany Parish President Mike Cooper is reiterating his call to citizens to exercise personal responsibility to slow the spread of COVID-19 to protect the most vulnerable in our community, and to prevent local hospitals from suffering continued strain on resources and medical staff. He said he continues to urge all citizens to continue to take personal responsibility. Cooper added that health professionals are saying informal social gatherings are a primary contributor to the spread of COVID and that their recommendation is to avoid gatherings with people outside of your own household. He also said that the Governor has urged any employer who can, to offer a remote work option to employees, as they are doing in St. Tammany Parish Government.
