Yesterday, the Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,902 new #COVID19 cases. Of those cases, 1,730 were confirmed cases and 1,172 were probable. 99% of the cases reported were community spread. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (20%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (15%) accounted for 35% of the cases. Of the tests reported, 17,928 were PCR tests and 7,859 were antigen tests. There were 51 deaths reported, bringing the current total death count to 8,022. There were 2,029 people in hospitals and 235 required ventilators. St Tammany’s positivity rating went to 15.4%, which was down 7%. Tangipahoa’s dropped to 12.6%, down 2%. Washington’s positivity came back at 11.5%, down 7%. Livingston was at 18.2%, up 7%. Jefferson and Orleans Parishes both saw slight drops in their percent positivity numbers.
