Donald Rouse Sr., who is the owner of Rouse’s Markets, issued a statement Thursday after a photo of him surfaced online showing his attendance at the rally that turned violent on Capitol Hill. The photo caused many people to comment on Rouse’s social media platforms condemning his attendance. Rouse Sr. admitted he attended the rally as a supporter of the president and to be in the nation’s capital at the close of his presidency. He said he left before the violence began and was shocked and saddened to see it unfold on TV. He also condemned the actions of those involved. The FBI and other law enforcement agencies are planning to make arrests and bring charges against those who led the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. The Krewe of Red Beans announced that it will no longer use Rouse’s Markets for it’s Feed the Second Line program and returned a $20,000 Rouse’s donation.
