The Louisiana Department of Health reported 823 #COVID19 cases yesterday. Of those cases, 732 were confirmed cases and 91 were probable cases. 99% of the cases reported were community spread. 1% of the cases were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (16%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (19%) accounted for 35% of the cases. 45 deaths were reported yesterday, bringing the current total death count to 7,336. There were 1,597 people in hospitals and 201 on ventilators. Last weekend, the United States reached a total of 331,116 deaths, which amounts to 1 in every 1,000 Americans having died from COVID-19. In Louisiana, the statistic was even more grim. 1 in every 635 Louisianans have died from COVID-19. You may be done with COVID, but COVID is not done with us. Until we have vaccinated enough people, we need to continue to use the tools that we know work: mask up, wash your hands and social distance.
