The Louisiana Department of Health reported 1,111 COVID19 cases yesterday. Of those cases, 1,097 were confirmed and 14 were probable. 94% of the cases reported were community spread. 6% were in congregate settings. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 (18%) and between the ages of 30 and 39 (18%) accounted for 36% of the cases. 65 deaths were reported yesterday, bringing the current total death count to 7,107. This was the highest number of deaths reported in a single day since July 29. There are 1,590 people in hospitals with 174 requiring ventilators.
In addition, the Louisiana Department of Health says Thanksgiving did not contribute to an explosion of new Coronavirus cases, as some doctors feared. There is evidence people listened and altered their plans for the holiday. LDH says your Christmas needs to look like your Thanksgiving. The department says it’s still safest to stay home with immediate household members.
