Yesterday St. Tammany Health System reported 31 patients in COVID care, an inpatient census of 145, and 612 patients discharged from COVID care since the pandemic began. They said St. Tammany Health System will begin vaccinating COVID team colleagues this morning. They said they are excited to have this vaccine for their healthcare heroes and look forward to coming months when they will be able to offer it more widely to the community. It will be an important step in ending the pandemic. Meantime, STHS recommends everyone continue to wear a mask, follow proper handwashing, cough etiquette and maintain your distance from others, particularly when you don’t feel well. These public safety measures truly make a difference when we all participate.
