The State of Mississippi reported 2,746 new cases of COVID-19 and 24 new deaths on Wednesday. That was the highest number of daily cases reported so far in the state since the pandemic began in March. MSDH reported 363 new cases and no new deaths for the six southernmost counties, including Pearl River, Harrison and Hancock. Their report listed 1,125 people hospitalized in Mississippi with confirmed infections. Of those, 165 were on ventilators.
