Yesterday St. Tammany Health System reported 35 patients in COVID care there and 565 patients discharged from COVID care since the pandemic began. To proactively manage inpatient capacity, STHS is working with their surgeons to reschedule procedures that in the surgeon’s judgment are not time-sensitive and would also require an overnight hospital stay. STHS recommends everyone wear a mask, follow proper handwashing, cough etiquette and maintain your distance from others, particularly when you don’t feel well. These public safety measures truly make a difference when we all participate, so STHS along with other health systems across the Northshore collaborated on a public service campaign to inspire Northshore neighbors to be safe during this time.
