The Louisiana Department of Health reported 3,939 #COVID19 cases yesterday, a two day total. Of those cases, 3,291 were confirmed cases and 648 probable cases. The vast majority (95%) of the newly reported cases are tied to COVID spreading in communities, rather than in congregate settings like nursing homes. The vast majority of the cases also date back to the last week (11/28-12/6) and are among all age groups and come from all regions of the state. Sadly, 36 additional #COVID deaths were reported, bringing our total to 6,584. 1,392 are currently in hospitals and 162 require ventilators. Please continue to follow the public measures we know work: mask up and stay 6 feet apart.
