Parish President Mike Cooper say he remains in coordinated discussions with the municipalities, public agencies and medical professionals of St. Tammany as they try to make decisions to determine the safest possible way to go forward with Mardi Gras 2021. He said because of the uncertainty, they will continue to monitor how COVID-19 impacts the Parish and base their decisions on what’s best for the entire community. Cooper said they understand the amount of planning and work that goes into Mardi Gras not only by the Krewes, but also by all of the municipalities and agencies that come together to ensure a safe, successful event.
