Hammond attorney William Scott Dykes has been elected to the 21st Judicial District Court bench with more than 60,000 votes across the three-parish district or 54 percent. Dykes carried his native parish of St. Helena and his home parish of Tangipahoa while finishing less than 1,000 votes behind his opponent Colt Fore in Livingston Parish. He will fill the seat left vacant when Judge Beth Wolfe ascended to the state’s appeal’s court this summer.
