The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office has locations for residents who want to donate supplies to families in the area affected by Hurricane Laura. A group from their Corrections Division will be making another delivery at the end of this month, and the public can drop off donations to be included in that delivery. Donations must be dropped off prior to Sept. 20 to be included in the delivery. Items needed include (but are not limited to) canned food, cleaning supplies, new clothing and new toys (can’t accept used because of Covid-19 concerns), bottled water and bottled sports drinks.
Donations can be dropped off Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Tammany Justice Center – 701 North Columbia Street, Covington (bin outside by the court security wellness check table), the Pearl River Training Center – 39395 Pine Street, Pearl River, the STPSO Administrative Office – 300 Brownswitch Road in Slidell, and at the St. Tammany Parish Jail – 1200 Champagne St, Covington (items can be dropped off at this location 24 hours a day, seven days a week).
