The City of Hammond will host a public hearing about the adoption of its 2020 millage rates on Tuesday, September 22, at 5:30pm at the city council chambers on East Charles Street. This is a new date for the hearing that was originally scheduled for September 8 since the ordinances were not introduced at the August 25 meeting due to the lack of a quorum. Lacy Landrum, City Administrator says fortunately the city did not have to start the complex process over, so there were no additional costs for the overall process. The ordinances are now scheduled to be introduced at the September 8 regular council meeting. A public hearing and a vote for final adoption of each ordinance will be at the September 22 regular meeting.
