Over on the Mississippi Gulf Coast the eight locations of Biloxi Public Schools opened their doors yesterday. Schools spokesperson Jennifer Pyron said they’re off to a smooth and safe start and that all the students did a great job with wearing masks. Biloxi has 5,332 students currently enrolled and 1,400 of those students are distance learners. Enrollment is below the 6,200 at the end of the last school year and the district is awaiting an order of 3,000 new Chromebooks to have on hand to augment the existing supply although they say they have enough cover the current distance learners.
