The Director of the Harvard Global Health Institute’s Ashish K. Jha predicts that Mississippi will become number one in the nation for COVID-19 based on numbers per capita. Jha referenced the state’s COVID-19 testing along with hospitalizations and death rates. Despite the increased numbers of cases and deaths, Governor Tate Reeves does not think another state shut down is necessary, saying the vast majority of Mississippians are small business owners who don’t get paid if they don’t show up for work.
