Tangipahoa Parish Schools released their Back to School Plan for the upcoming school year, which they say is focused on opening safely and meeting the needs of all of their students.
The plan says, in part, that the well-being of students and staff is of utmost importance to them. Therefore, TPSS is taking protective measures based on recommendations of medical professionals from the CDC, Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, as well as guidance from the Louisiana Department of Education in an effort to keep students and staff safe and healthy.
Upon reopening, their facilities will have been cleaned and disinfected, and they will continue to adhere to all necessary safety precautions throughout the school year.
They will require employees to maintain safety standards by continuously cleaning and disinfecting based on the guidelines provided by health and safety officials.
TPSS is committed to excellence. This includes social-emotional learning, working to accelerate learning for all students, and expanding opportunities for students during and after the school day with a focus on STEM.
Please keep in mind that their guidance is fluid and will be adjusted as necessary to align with federal and state guidelines throughout the school year.
