Hammond Firefighter of the Year Matthew Stevens was recognized by the Knights of Columbus of Hammond last night.
Matt is a 4-year veteran of the Hammond Fire Department where he has risen to the rank of Operator.
Matt was recognized along with Police Officer Lana Zaffuto of the Hammond Police Department.
After the presentation of firefighter and police officer of the year, Mayor Panepinto and Director Landrum presented the Knights of Columbus with a proclamation celebrating the 50 years the Knights of Columbus have honored our fire and police officers.
