Hammond Police are investigating a homicide that occurred on July 15.
At approximately 11:00 p.m., the Hammond Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Smith Square, in regards to several reports of gunshots being heard and someone possibly being shot.
Upon arrival officers found the victim, Tyrell Hines, 29 years old of Hammond, with a single gunshot wound. He was transported to North Oaks Medical Center where he succumbed to his injury.
