Last week Tangipahoa Parish Code Enforcement was notified of an illegal dumping which occurred on Old Hwy 51 (the low road) between Ponchatoula and Manchac.
Parish Code Enforcement responded immediately to investigate. Working in coordination with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the offender was quickly identified and located.
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries issued Mr. Dane J. Breaux a criminal citation for gross littering.
Parish President Robby Miller said it was the second time in just over a month they caught someone illegally dumping in Manchac and they will not tolerate the casual attitude some people have towards illegal dumping. Miller asked citizens who witness such illegal activity to report it immediately to local law enforcement, or the Tangipahoa Parish Code Enforcement Department by telephone at 985-602-9081, by email at enforcement@tangipahoa.org, or online at www.keeptangipahoabeautiful.org. Citizens may also report it through TangiCrimeStoppers by telephone at 1-800-554-5245 (JAIL) or the www.tangicrimestoppers.com website.
