
The funeral procession for Sgt. Theresa Simon has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, following the service in Slidell.
According to police, the procession is expected to last for 45 minutes to an hour and will be led by over 100 police motorcycles, police cars, fire trucks and other first responder vehicles.
Citizens may line up along the procession route to pay their respects. Slidell Police Department released a statement addressing citizens saying, “Please treat this as you would a parade and understand that roadways will be shut down for up to an hour. If you do not wish to pay your respects along the procession route, please plan ahead and take an alternate route. Please remember funeral procession etiquette by pulling over to the side of the road, and remember vehicles in the funeral procession have the right of way.”
The Procession will start on Second St. (in front of the Slidell City Auditorium) and proceed north to Fremaux Ave. Turn right on Fremaux Ave. Turn right on Sgt. Alfred Drive. Turn right on Old Spanish Trail. Turn right on Pontchartrain Drive. Turn right on Front St. Proceed on Front St. to Gause Blvd. Turn left on Gause Blvd and proceed on Gause Blvd. to Forest Lawn Cemetery.
