On Monday, June 7, Tangipahoa Parish Code Enforcement was alerted to an illegal dumping on Old Hwy 51 (the low road) between Ponchatoula and Manchac.
Five 55-gallon drums containing various types of debris were dumped on the side of the road and
into the water.
Parish Code Enforcement Officers immediately launched an investigation.
Working in close coordination with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana
Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the offender was quickly identified and located. Louisiana
Department of Wildlife and Fisheries issued the offender a criminal citation for gross littering,
pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statute 30:2531.1.
