The victim killed in an overnight house fire in Hammond has been identified according to Chief Daniel Folks.
William Moore, 61, was pronounced dead on the scene after four responding units of the Hammond Fire Department performed a perimeter search.
He was found inside the residence.
The fire started around 12:30 a.m. off Old Covington Hwy. When units arrived they found the structure already well involved with flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
