Shortly before 10pm on Sunday, May 2, Slidell Police investigated a fatal crash in the 1800 block of Gause Boulevard West (Highway 190).
The preliminary investigation indicates a 2000 Toyota Tacoma was traveling west on Gause Boulevard West. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, 27-year-old, Matthew Robinson of Bay. St. Louis, was driving recklessly, lost control of the vehicle, and crossed the highway into oncoming traffic.
A 2017 Honda Civic, traveling east on Gause Boulevard West, t-boned the Toyota Tacoma, causing the truck to overturn.
The passenger of the Toyota Tacoma, identified as 34-year-old, Domonick Brown of Lacombe, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The two passengers of the Honda Civic received minor/moderate injuries, but are expected to make a full recovery.
Matthew Robinson was placed under arrest for: Negligent Homicide, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, No Drivers License, and two counts of Negligent Injury.
Impairment is suspected to be a contributing factor, and toxicology results are pending.
