The City of New Orleans held a news conference Monday to address potential street flooding expected later this week.
They expressed concern for lack of backup power should they lose power. In the press conference, S&WB leaders noted the fragile state regarding power, and said they do not have the backup capacity in event of loss of power. The S&WB says 96 of the 99 draining pumps are available.
Parking restrictions will also be lifted in the city of New Orleans starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday until further notice. Those wishing to move vehicles to higher ground are allowed to park their vehicles on the neutral ground without getting a ticket.
