Andi L. Matheu, the Registrar of Voters for Tangipahoa Parish says the decision in a recent court case made the following changes for the November and December 2020 elections. The same Covid-19 ballot application that was used during the July 11 and August 15, 2020 elections must be made available to voters for both the November 3, 2020 and the December 5, elections. The period of early voting for the November 3, 2020 election is increased to a 10 day period which shall run from Friday, October 16, 2020 to Tuesday, October 27, 2020 (excluding Sundays) from 8:00AM to 7:00 PM. The covid-19 application can be found on their website and may be completed online or printed and returned by mail or hand delivered to the Registrar of Voters offices.
Tangipahoa Registrar of Voters Andi Matheu is also reminding all eligible citizens to make sure they’re registered to vote ahead of the fall elections. It is also just as important to verify your registration information is up to date. They would normally go out into the community and conduct voter registration drives, but with some covid-19 restrictions still in place, it was hard to schedule those plans. Those who need to register for the first time, or make changes to their current registration, can do so online at www.GeauxVote.com. Registration can also be done in-person at the Registrar of Voters office. An application may also be submitted by mail. Those forms and any registration information can be found at our website www.TangiVotes.com. For those who wish to register in-person, the Registrar of Voters office is available Monday – Friday.
