On Tuesday, The Louisiana Department of Health reported 2,040 cases. The collection dates for most of these cases fall between June 30, and July 7. 87% of the cases reported to the state were community spread. 35% of the cases reported today are of individuals aged 29 and under. There have been 23 deaths reported to the state, bringing the current total death count is 3,211. Hospitalizations and vent usage continue to tick upward. 1,025 residents with the virus are now in hospitals, 109 of them require ventilators. As hospitals in Texas are reportedly running low of ICU beds, local hospitals are still well within their limits.
