Yesterday morning, the men and women of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office joined law enforcement agencies from across the parish at the St. Tammany Parish Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony, hosted by the Mandeville Police Department.
Sheriff Randy Smith served as this year’s keynote speaker. He offered a powerful reminder of why they gather each year, to honor the lives of those who gave everything in the line of duty. Sheriff Smith spoke of their bravery, their sacrifice, and the deep responsibility others carry to ensure their names are never forgotten. As the group stood united in uniform and purpose, each name was read so that everyone felt the weight of every family left behind.
Likewise, Tangipahoa Parish law enforcement officers, who have made the ultimate sacrifice, were remembered and honored at the Peace Officer Memorial ceremony at SLU yesterday. On behalf of TPSO, Sheriff Gerald Sticker represented the seven dedicated TPSO deputies who lost their lives in the line of duty. Sticker said we miss them, thank them, and we will never forget our heroes.
