Yesterday Amite Police upgraded the charges against a suspect in the investigation into the shooting of two teens in Amite late Monday.
Natajaa Williams, 18, of Hammond, is now charged with principal to first degree murder and principal to attempted first-degree murder related to the shooting that took place on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the intersection of South Fifth Street and Martin Luther King Drive in Amite.
Authorities confirmed that one of the two victims, an 18-year-old male, succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday. No additional details had been released regarding the identity of the victims as of yesterday.
